Set up approvals
Choose which agent actions wait for a person to say yes.
Updated
Approvals keep a person in charge of anything that matters. An action that needs approval pauses until someone says yes, no, or edits it first.
Choose what needs approval
Open an agent, go to Approvals, and mark the actions that should wait for a person. We recommend approvals for:
- Sending email or messages to customers
- Issuing refunds, credits, or payments
- Changing important records, such as deal stages
- Anything that is hard to undo
Where approvals arrive
| Channel | Best for |
|---|---|
| Approvals inbox | Reviewing everything in one place |
| Slack | Quick yes or no from where your team works |
| Approvers who rarely open Agento |
Each approval shows what the agent wants to do, why, and the sources it used, so a decision takes seconds.
Approve, edit, or reject
- Approve sends the action as drafted.
- Edit lets you change the draft, then approve it.
- Reject stops the action. Add a note and the agent learns from it.
Approval digests
For low-risk actions, batch approvals into a daily digest: one email with every pending item, approved in a single click.
Loosen rules over time
Check Analytics → Approvals. When an action has been approved without edits many times, consider letting it run on its own with a weekly spot check.
Workspace admins can set approval rules that apply to every agent in Settings → Policies. Agents can add stricter rules, never looser ones.
