Agento API

One API for agents that do real work.

Create agents, start runs, handle approvals, and stream every step, from any language that can make an HTTP request.

$npm i @agento/sdk

Quickstart

Your first run in three lines

Create a key in Settings → API keys, then start a run for any agent.

curl -X POST https://api.example.com/v1/runs \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $AGENTO_KEY" \
  -d '{ "agent": "lead-researcher" }'

API

Everything an agent needs, one API

Durable runs, scoped tools, and human approvals are primitives, not projects.

  • Agents as code

    Define instructions, tools, and limits in TypeScript or Python, and version them with your app.

    agents.create()
  • Durable runs

    Every step is checkpointed, retried, and resumable, even across deploys.

    runs.create()
  • Approvals

    Mark any tool call as approval-required and resume when a person says yes.

    approvals: ['gmail.send']
  • Webhooks

    Get signed events for every step, approval, and result.

    run.step.completed
  • Scoped keys

    Keys per environment and per agent, with record-level permissions.

    scope: agents:read
  • Audit log API

    Stream every action to your SIEM or data warehouse.

    GET /v1/audit

Authentication

Secure by default

Every request uses a bearer key scoped to a workspace, an environment, and optionally a set of agents.

  • Scoped keysSeparate keys per environment, each limited to the agents it needs.
  • Signed webhooksVerify every event with an HMAC signature.
  • Audit logEvery API call is logged with the key that made it.
