Core concepts
Agents
What an agent is, how to write its instructions, and how it decides what to do.
An agent is a worker with one job. It has instructions, a set of tools (integrations), and rules for what it may do on its own.
Instructions
Write instructions like a brief to a new teammate: the goal, what good looks like, and when to ask for help.
Tools
Each tool is an integration action, such as reading a HubSpot deal or drafting a Gmail reply. Agents only see the tools you grant them.
Runs
Every time an agent works, Agento records a run: each step, its inputs and outputs, and how long it took.
